ITINERARY
Your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning, at 4:30 AM, and you will commence your journey to the northern region of Rwanda to experience the captivating highland features of this remarkable destination.
Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will proceed to embark on the thrilling hike up the slopes of Mount Bisoke, one of the iconic volcanoes within the Virunga Mountain range. Hiking Bisoke Volcano is a truly rewarding adventure that will allow you to summit one of the most magnificent peaks in the region, standing at an impressive elevation of 3,711 meters (12,175 feet).The hike will take you through a diverse array of ecosystems, starting from the lush, verdant lower slopes, where you will traverse bamboo forests and verdant meadows. As you ascend, the trail will become more challenging, leading you into the Afro-alpine zone, characterized by the unique heather and open moorland vegetation. Throughout the journey, you will be treated to breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding Virunga Mountains, neighboring volcanoes, and the shimmering waters of Lake Kivu in the distance, should the weather conditions permit.
