1. Visa Requirements:

All African nationals are either visa-exempt or can obtain a visa on arrival.
Visitors from other countries can also apply for an e-visa online before departure.
Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.

2. Safety:

Rwanda is renowned as the safest country in Africa, offering visitors a secure and welcoming environment.

3. Currency and Payments:

The official currency is the Rwandan Franc, but the USD is widely accepted.
Credit cards are commonly used in major cities and tourist areas.

4. Gorilla Trekking Permits:

Permits for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park can be purchased at the Tourism Headquarters in Kigali or at offices near the park.

5. Packing Essentials:

Don’t forget to pack a windbreaker or light raincoat for gorilla tracking in the rainforest.
Consider bringing a torch for adventure activities, as the voltage is 220 in Rwanda.

6. Swimming:

If you enjoy swimming, bring your swimming costume. Many hotels in Kigali have swimming pools, and swimming in Lake Kivu is also popular (follow the guide’s advice).

7. Drinking Water:

It’s advisable to drink bottled water rather than tap water during your stay. Bottled water is readily available throughout Rwanda.
