1- DAY EXCURSION TO TWIN LAKES (BURERA AND RUHONDO)
Your Professional Guide will drive you from Musanze to Burera district where you will start your hike to a viewpoint that offers unparalleled 360-degree vistas of the Twin Lakes. The hike, moderately challenging, takes you through terraced farmland, forested trails, and small villages, providing a glimpse into rural Rwandan life.
Your guide will be explaining the unique formation of the Twin Lakes and their separation by Mount Mwiko and Highlighting the surrounding volcanic peaks, including Mount Sabyinyo and Mount Muhabura.
During this hike The Guide will Share with you cultural and environmental insights about the area, pointing out native plants and wildlife along the trail, also showing you beautiful view of Virunga Massive.
Activity 2: Boat Tour on Lake Ruhondo
Starta guided boat tour to explore the serene waters of Lake Ruhondo. Visit small islands rich with birdlife, such as kingfishers, cormorants, and egrets. Interact with local fishermen and learn about their traditional methods of living by the lake.
Share stories with The Guide about the history and cultural significance of the Twin Lakes to the local communities.
Point out bird species and explain their habitats & Facilitate interactions with locals, translating and providing context to their way of life.
Back in Musanze & Lunch at Migano Restaurant (Musanze)
